Transforming the World, Transforming Ourselves
Real World Transformation is a year-long blog project being undertaken by a group of students graduating from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio in May 2009. Each of the authors in this blog will be spending the 2009-2010 academic year in a full time service program, including Lutheran Volunteer Corps; Young Adults in Global Mission; Teach for America; and Episcopal Service Corps. The purpose of this blog is to share our stories with you (the readers) and each other as we embark on adventures around the globe, out in the post-college "real world." It is our hope that this year of service will be a transformative experience for ourselves, helping us to discern our callings in life, but also a transformative experience for the communities in which we will be working. We view the upcoming year as a service-learning experience. We will be each be engaged in full-time service, but recognize that, to be truly effective in our service, we must also learn and be transformed by the experience. We look forward to sharing our experiences throughout the next year. Please check back often for updates as we will be posting as we learn more about the programs we will be joining.
